Laptop Fund Project #1

This may run for a while, probably at the same time as other projects later. I'm going to put a dollar toward a deck of playing cards and commission them.

For $1.50 (includes postage!), I will decorate any available cards you want in any style you want. I can put little paintings of dragons or lots of shiny gold vines - whatever you want (within my ability, of course XD). The price is $1.00 per card, and the $.50 goes towards postage, so if you buy multiple cards, you only have to pay that $.50 once. :)

Ridiculous Project Time!

Alright, so here's the situation. My laptop has had a corrupted hard drive since December. It's about 2.5 years old now, and I was considering getting a new one anyway, so I decided that instead of paying the $80 for a new hard drive, I'd save up for a new laptop. Funds are even shorter than they should be, unfortunately. The one I want will cost me about $1100 if we round up. I have $80. -_-

So here's the plan! I'm going to make massive amounts of small crafts in batches and try to sell them to people. This laptop has been getting worse and worse, and I really can't afford to sit back and watch it eat my files. I'll update here after every batch of crafty things to show my progress. I also take art commissions, if anyone is interested. Pricing depends on a lot, so ask for a quote.

My current laptop will be going to Tim when I get a new one. When he gets money, he'll eventually be replacing its hard drive and probably paying me something for it, if not putting a chunk towards the new one. That depends on when he gets either more than 10 hours a month or a better job. XD

What I've Been Up To

So I know I've really vanished off the face of the planet for a while. Life's gotten pretty busy. Right now, I'm working as an artist for an up and coming video game company. I can't say anything about the game yet, but it's coming along well. I'm also designing some dungeons and maps for another game company. I've been doing a lot of freelance art commissions, some paid, some not. It doesn't matter much to me. I really like doing things for other people, especially tattoo designs. I've done quite a few of those lately.

I've also been having health problems again. It's nothing new, but I thought my health was stabilizing, and now that all my issues are back, I guess I can't be so hopeful. I'm hoping to start college in the fall for Social Studies Education, whether I'm in poor health or not. I've got to get back into making jewelry, too.

In other news, my laptop has a dying harddrive. It crashed on me around Christmas, I fixed it, and now it's about to die again. I hope my warrantee covers that and replaces it for me. I totally can't afford a new harddrive.

Anyway, I've beens spending a great deal of time doing artwork stuff and baking. I really hope to get back into this blogging thing, but stuff is really hectic and sort of a mess.

A Week in My Life

This week will give you a good idea of my life, and seeing as this is my first blog post, I'd say that's a good place to start. If you've seen my profile at all, I'm a craft fanatic. I've spent my life making everything from cookies to wreaths to wooden gumball machines. This weekend is the second ever Oddmall, a craft fair in Hudson, Ohio. I travelled six hours to the first with my mother and my boyfriend Tim. That was in May. I did well, met some awesome people, bought some cool stuff...overall had a great time. On Monday of this week, my mother bought me a laptop as a belated birthday gift. Im typing from this shiny new HP now, as a matter of fact. Yesterday I used it to watch about 12 episodes of Death Note. I've never been one for anime - in fact, I hate the vast majority of it. Death Note and Code Geass are the exceptions. Congrats to the writers for creating something even I enjoy.

Just browsing the internet, I found some pretty interesting things over the past couple days. One slice of awesomeness I encountered was this comic book character costume. I have no idea who she is, but it's very well done. On the same site I found a link to an artist's website. Jeffrey Thomas has a collection of "Twisted Princesses," his take on classic Disney figures. Personally, Jasmine is my favorite. One of the most amusing things I found was http://www.regretsy.com/, a blog of horrible items for sale on the craft site Etsy. Before you check that out, be warned that there is adult content on the site. I love the comments of the woman running the site. It's hilarious.
